Fandango Recording offers hands-on audio engineering courses in the studio, courses that cover all the aspects of the music production process. The courses are taught by a music professional with 30 years of experience in the music business. The courses are one-on-one, teacher and JUST ONE STUDENT!
I believe that for a job in music production studio the online courses provide you a decent overview of the process, but they are far from enough; you must experience first-hand all the details of the process for yourself by effectively doing it, to be able to have a good start in the music business.
The courses are offered as separate modules or all together. I recommend to take all the courses, as they give the student an in depth understanding of the music production process. They are concentrated, without any fluff, hands-on, and the student will be introduced to every aspect of the process, covering both the theoretical and the practical aspect.
The courses are structured as workshops, where the student will learn effectively and practically how to deal with all the aspects of the process. While the DAW used are Nuendo for recording and mixing, and Wavelab for mastering, the knowledge the student gains are applicable to every DAW. For learning a DAW we recommend online courses - there are tons of them. Fandango’s courses are not related with the DAW, but with the principles, procedures and processes involved, and can be applied afterwards no matter what DAW you are using.
At present, the courses are offered in English, and starting 2026 they will be offered in Spanish too. Here are the modules and the curriculum of the modules:
SOUND & ACOUSTIC PRINCIPLES
CHAPTERS
Physics of sound principles
Auditory perception and how it applies to recording, mixing and mastering
Acoustics of musical instruments and how to use them in the process or recording.
Acoustics of recording studios; how to build a professional recording studio; principles of acoustic design and practical solutions; how to choose and place a monitoring system in control room and how to check and improve the rooms acoustics.
This course deals with acoustic principles and helps you get a strong foundation extremely useful for recording, for investing in a recording studio tools, and teaches you (both theoretical and practically) how to differentiate various acoustical problems – like the sound projection from various instruments, problem of acoustic interference due to the space and how to use it in your advantage. Module duration: 15 hours (two or three days - arrangements to be made with the student). Price: 600 euros
THE ART OF RECORDING
CHAPTERS
Microphones: how do they work; types and polar patterns; rundown of most used microphones and their use for instruments and vocals.

The use of recording space: recording room types, live recording, choir and orchestra recording.
Famous recording sessions explained.
This module approach is both theoretical and practical, with recording sessions geared to illustrate the microphone types, patterns and miking techniques, the preamps flavours, so the student builds a solid understanding of the recording process. Module duration: 30 hours (4 days) Price: 1500 euros
